3rd Annual Well Workplace Awards
Recognizing the efforts of local organizations that encourage healthy behavior.
Twenty-six local organizations were recognized for their ongoing commitment to the health of their employees on January 24 at the third annual Well Workplace Awards breakfast. Applicants were required to submit a letter of support from senior management, documentation of a wellness representative or a wellness committee, a minimum of two healthy weight management interventions, and had to achieve at least 10 of 20 items included in a "Creating a Supportive Environment" checklist.
Special recognition was given to two organizations; Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority for the small organization and Pleasant View Retirement Community in the large organization category. Each received the Innovative Workplace Award, which is given to recognize the efforts of the organizations for thei creative and innovative approaches to wellness in the workplace.
Others receiving recognition included: Benecon, Conestoga Valley School District, Coresource Inc., Case New Holland America LLC, Electron Energy Corporation, Elizabethtown Area School District, Engle Printing & Publishing Co. Inc., Fairmount Homes, Franklin & Marshall College, Fulton Financial Corporation, Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority, Lancaster EMS, Lancaster Family YMCA, Lancaster General Health, Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13, Lancaster Neuro, Masonic Village, Murray Risk Management and Insurance, Pleasant View Retirement Community, Precision Medical Products, Inc., Sechan Electronics, Inc., StoudtAdvisors, Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc., Willow Valley Retirement Communities, Worley & Obetz.
