Adults should strive for 10,000 steps a day. How many are you getting? Register to use our free Lancaster on the Move Physical Activity Tracker to log all of your daily activities and have them automatically converted into steps. You may be surprised!
The Lancaster on the Move Recreation Directory is your guide to more than 225 free or low-cost settings where you can be physically active throughout Lancaster County. It's broken down into four geographic quadrants for your convenience. It also includes a directory of organizations throughout Lancaster County that provide nutrition and/or fitness services.
The Lancaster City Recreation Directory is a listing of Lancaster City organizations that offer after-school, dance, faith-based, fitness, sports, and summer programs for individuals and families. It also includes a listing of city parks and their features.
The Rails to Trails Conservancy is creating a nationwide network of trials from former rial lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people. Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs are sustained efforts by parents, schools, community leaders and local, state, and federal governments to improve the health and well-being of children by enabling and encouraging them to walk and bicycle to school.
Girls on the Run educates and prepares girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The Lancaster Chapter started in 2009 and already more than 250 girls have participated!
The Lancaster Road Runners is a group of road and trail runners based in Lancaster County. Runners of all abilities have been taking part in training runs, races, and social events since 1977. All interested runners are encouraged to participate in their events. They have club runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings and much more.
Join the Buddy Up Challenge and train for a 5k or half marathon. You can also win great prizes. All race registrants receive a race shirt and goody bag.
