  Shapedown®
A Weight Management Program for Children and Teens

If your child or teen is at risk for overweight or obesity, Lancaster General Health can help with Shapedown, a nationally recognized program taught by a team of experts, including a dietitian, nurse and exercise physiologist. Shapedown provides a supportive and fun atmosphere that helps participants
achieve a healthier body and increased self-esteem.

Children attend weekly classes with a parent or guardian to promote a healthier lifestyle for the entire family. Group classes are held for children ages 7-12 and teens ages 13-17.

  • Shapedown participants learn healthy eating habits and how to increase physical activity.
  • Workbooks, pedometers, exercise programs and Wii Fit are utilized to help them obtain a healthier weight while having fun.
  • By teaching your child or teen how to eat right and be active now, you’re helping them learn the skills they’ll need for a lifetime of healthy living.
  • Both the child and teen sessions include two one-on-one consultations and eight weekly group classes.

All classes are held at the Lancaster General Health, Healthy Weight Management Center,
2150 Harrisburg Pike, Suite 300, Lancaster.

Cost is $350 per family. Scholarships are available. Call for details.

To register or for more information, call (717) 544-3145.
